Emesene 1.5.1

Recentemente anunciei aqui o emenene 1.5 awesome, pois bem, agora estou anunciando o 1.5.1 awesome bugfix edition.

Review: Debian Lenny no Acer Aspire 5920

Enfim, estou querendo fazer uma pequena análise de Como o Debian está rodando aqui, ao estilo da outra que eu fiz sobre o ubuntu.

Vamos começar do mesmo jeito que a anterior :D

Bom, tenho um laptop acer com o seguinte hardware

Proc. Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66 2Mb Cache L2

2Gb DDR2 667 de ram

160 Gb HD

Video, som e wireless intel.

Por partes:

1) O Vídeo.

bom, minha placa de vídeo é uma Intel 965GM, vejam a saída do lspci

Porém, o desempenho dela no Debian se mostrou superior quando comparado ao ubuntu. No ubuntu com kernel recompilado etc etc, ela fazia uns 900fps no glxgears. No Debian, tá fazendo mais de 1000. :D

2) O Wireless.

Como podem ver, é uma Intel 3945ABG.

E, por incrivel que pareça, está funcionando melhor que no ubuntu. Digo ‘por incrível que pareça’, porque via de regra o ubuntu usa muitos drivers em desenvolvimento, o que acarreta as vezes um funcionamento melhor, ou não.

Nesse caso, o Debian não esta com os bugs da ‘luzinha’ do wireless que ocorrem no ubuntu 8.10.

Ou seja, GOSTEI!

4) A WebCam.

Bom, a webcam é de boa, ela usa o módulo uvcvideo, que o ubuntu instala automaticamente..

no Slackware e etc, eu baixo o fonte e compilo de boa, depois só carrego o module.

Mini-Guia de configuração do Slackware

Bom, como muita gente reclama que o Slackware é muito difícil de configurar, resolvi mostrar que é difícil entre aspas..

Tá certo que ele não é que nem os ubuntus, fedoras, < insira aqui alguma outra distro do tipo >, mas não assim.. um bixo de 7 cabeças..

VIDEO

No geral, a maioria dos novos slackusers, se arrebentam pra configurar o X… editam o arquivo “/etc/X11/xorg.conf”, rodam “x -configure”, não sei o que.., etc etc..

Eu geralmente(sempre desde que aprendi isso) faço assim:

Pra começar, saia do modo gráfico (caso esteja nele), pressionando “ctrl+alt+backspace”.

como root, execute o comando “xorgsetup”

e vá escolhendo lá, o vídeo, ele vai detectar e configurar automaticamente…

SOM

O som também costuma ser um mistério para usuários com pouca experiência.., mas veja só como é fácil:

como root, rode o “alsaconf” e vá apertando enter.. simples, fácil e indolor!!

caso queira testar, execute um “ls /dev/* >> /dev/dsp” , você deve ouvir algum chiado nas caixas de som.. signofica que funcionou.

Pensou que ia ser pior né? ;)

INTERFACE GRÁFICA?

Outra coisa que, pra quem não user das antigas, dos tempos das primeiras distros.. costuma estranhar, é que o slackware inicia em modo texto..

Mas obviamente, se você instalou, ele tem interface gráfica sim.

Comofaz? tecle “startx” e pressione enter. Pronto.


MAS E SE EU QUISER QUE ELE INICIE COM A INTERFACE GRÁFICA??

Simples, como root, abra o arquivo “/etc/inittab”, você vai ter algo assim:

já comentei lá, mas enfim, é só substituir o 3 da linha “id:3:initdefault:” por 4, como em “id:4:initdefault:” .

pronto. ;)


USUÁRIO PARA USO COMUM..

Bom, todos sabem que não é aconselhável usar o sistema como root por diversos motivos.. (se você não sabe, pesquise! Esse tipo de artigo já está muito saturado na web..)

então vamos criar o usuário.

Você pode fazer isso de duas formas. A primeira, é usando o “kuser” do KDE. A 2ª é usando o “adduser” ou “useradd”. Vou explicar a 1ª, que é mais fácil.

Aperte “alt+f2″, digite “kuser” e pressione enter.. vai aparecer a janela dele..

nos ícones a parte superior dele, tem a opção “add user” (ou algo assim, dependendo do idioma..).. clique lá e crie seu user..

feito isso, dessa na lista até achar seu usuário, e dê um duplo clique nele..

agora, navegue até a aba “groups”, e marque todos eles.


O LILO.

Bom, algo que incomoda muito, é a lendidão do boot do slack.. não sei ao certo todos os fatos pelos quais isso acontece.. mas enfim.. eu sei melhorar um pouquinho..

como root, abra o arquivo /etc/lilo.conf .

Isso vai tirar os “pontinhos” que aparecem antes de começar o boot propriamente dito..

NETWORK MANAGER

Uma diferença dessa versão (12.2) do slackware para as anteriores.. é que agora ele tem um network manager..

É, você percebeu, ele não vem instalado por padrão.. ele está na pasta “/extra” do dvd do slackware..

navegue até a pasta e instale.. depois adicione ele ao painel do KDE e pronto. Muito fácil também.


MAS.. COMO INSTALO PACOTES NISSO AQUI?

É caros amigos, o slackware não tem o apt-get, urpmi, ou sei lá que outra ferramenta do gênero você usava antes..

Por isso, vou ensinar vocês a instalar e remover pacotes do slack o/

Em primeiro lugar, os pacotes para slackware são portados em “.tgz”, você pode obtê-los em www.linuxpackages.net , www.slacky.eu , entre outros (pesquise!).

installpkg arquivo.tgz #instala (óbvio..)

upgradepkg arquivo.tgz #atualiza (óbvio..)

removepkg arquivo.tgz #remove (óbvio..)

caso queira atualizar vários arquivos de uma vez, como se você por acaso for instalar o KDE4 no slack, aconselho usar “upgradepkg –install-new *tgz”. Assim ele atualiza os packages existentes e instala os outros ;)

outra dica é o “pkgtool”, nele você pode fazer tudo isso que eu mostrei sobre pacotes… e de quebra, habilitar e desabilitar serviços.. é bem pratico..

Bom, isso é o que eu lembrei até agora.. se eu me lembrar de mais alguma coisa ou se vocês comentarem etc, eu atualizo o post depois ;)

ahh, não esqueça de usar o fórun do slackware-br:  slackbr.org .

Ontem, após suspender meu laptop, quando retornei simplesmente não funcionava mais o botão do volume…

Eu rodava ele, aparecia a imagem na tela de o volume sendo abaixado, mais nada de abaixar…

Fui e chequei os atalhos do teclado, tudo certo..

Chequei o canal padrão de som, isso aquilo e aquilo outro.. e nada de funcionar..

Por fim, desisti..

Mas hoje, pela manhã, eu lendo coisas aqui e ali, não sei como, fui parar no fórum ubuntu, num tópico sobre instalação do eebuntu num eePC..

Fui lendo, de curioso mesmo..

Então, achei o comando salvador da pátria!

gconftool-2 --set /desktop/gnome/sound/default_mixer_tracks --type list --list-type string "[PCM]"

Mexi o botão denovo e pronto! FUNCIONANDO NOVAMENTE! o//

Aliás, notei que o som tá gostando de dar pau quando o ubuntu é suspendido.. ainda no mesmo tópico, outra solução, que aqui não funcionou =/

Rode esse comando no terminal..

Aqui continua não funcionando essa porcaria.. vou pesquisar mais sobre isso.. o engraçado, é que se suspender ele, voltar sem usar o som, suspender denovo e voltar denovo, funciona..

Antes também funcionou, quando eu fui para um terminal em modo texto, e voltei pro gráfico…

Outra coisa interessante para quem tem laptop, é o CPU Frequency Scaling.

Eu sempre usava o ubuntu-tweak para abilitar esse recurso no gerenciador de energia do gnome, mais não sei porque, n 8.10 não funcionoou ¬¬

Nesse mesmo tópico, relembrei de um recurso que eu tinha visto aaaaaaanos atrás no meu Desktop, mas que era inútil (para um Desktop).

É o applet “Monitor de graduação e frequência da CPU”

Ele já vem instalado, é só adicionar ele ao painel.. clicar nele, e mudar a frequência de acordo com sua vontade..

O único problema, é que ele vai ficar pedindo a senha de root, para isso, simplesmente faça o seguinte:

Abra um terminal, e execute:

sudo chmod +s /usr/bin/cpufreq-selector

depois:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnome-applets

Informe “yes” e pronto, funcionando a bagaça!

Bom, tenho um laptop acer com o seguinte hardware

2Gb DDR2 667 de ram

160 Gb HD

Video, som e wireless intel.


bom, vamos por partes.


1) O Vídeo.

bom, minha placa de vídeo é uma Intel 965GM, vejam a saída do lspci

Bom, desde a versão 7.10 já funcionava, mais não tão bem como nessa, o que indica que a bagaça evoluiu mesmo algo além da aparência (H), embora ainda existam alguns bugs com relação a vídeos e tal.. de você mexer a janela e o vídeo ficar no mesmo lugar, bom, quem já viu sabe do que eu tô falando, quem não viu AGRADEÇA A DEUS!

Tem esse bug, mais ainda não tive empenho de tentar concertar, se eu conseguir, posto aqui =)


2) O Wireless.

Whooaa que dessa eu gostei. Até a versão anterior, meu wireless não funcionava direiro.

Por exemplo, não acendia a luzinha saca? E não pegava redes que tinham acentos nos nomes (ex Pátio).

Agora funciona de Bouaa :D :D:D:D

Notei um pequeno bug só, que só aconteceu uma vez.

Desliguei o wireless, e quando tentei ligar, não ligava mais :O

mais então, go go go to terminal, um pequeno ’sudo ifconfig wlan0 up’ e pronto, funcionando beleza. Acabei de testar ligar e desligar, e agora funcionou … bom, vai saber..

ahh, já ia esquecendo, saída do lspci

3) O Som.

Outro que me surpreendeu. Antes, quando conectava um fone de ouvido na saída de som, os alt-falantes d notebook continuavam tocando. Agora ele desliga sozinho. queeeeeeee bom!

4) A WebCam.

Bom, a webcam é de boa, ela usa o módulo uvcvideo, que o ubuntu instala automaticamente..

no Slackware e etc, eu baixo o fonte e compilo de boa, depois só carrego o module.
